Foil and Permanent Markers

Foil can look good. Look at THESE!

Supplies:

cardboard (cereal boxes)
glue

yarn

scissors

heavy duty foil

adhesive spray (optional) or tape or glue stick

permanent markers

Other option instead of yarn:

dull pencil

black acrylic or shoe polish
foam sheet or magazine page

paper towels or rags

Instructions:

    1. Cut rectangle out of cardboard.

    2. Put lines of glue on cardboard in a simple pattern.

    3. Put yarn over glue. (You can let dry or go to next step.)

    4. Put spray adhesive on foil and put over yarn and cardboard.

    5. Gently press foil down to show the pattern.

    6. Color with permanent markers.

Other option:

  1. Cut rectangle out of cardboard.

  2. Use spray adhesive to attach four layers of heavy duty foil onto the board.

  3. Lay a magazine picture or foam sheet over the foil.

  4. Using a dull pencil trace the magazine picture or draw a design on the foam sheet to press into the foil.

  5. Wipe or paint shoe polish or acrylic paint into the indentations made then rub off excess with a paper towel or rag.

    Tips:

    * Spray adhesive makes your life so much easier. Super 77 is the best brand but is $7 a can. Elmer's Spray adhesive is $2.50 and will work just fine for this purpose.

    * You can use packing tape to tape foil to the back if you are not using spray adhesive.
