Coffee Filters and Markers
Dale Chihuly lessons can be interesting. THESE and THESE convinced me to try making these.
Macchia
Supplies:
Coffee filters
washable markers
Spray starch
cups
yarn
display materials
Instructions:
1.) Draw on coffee filters with markers. The more colors covering the coffee filter the better.
2.) Lay coffee filters over cups. You can tie them down with yarn.
3.) Spray with starch
4.) Let dry
5.) Display
Tips:
* This lesson can be related to Dale Chihuly
*'Macchia' is the name of a glass series of artwork done by Dale Chihuly
*If you only draw with yellow and blue, the colors will run together to make green when it is sprayed.
*These look good glued together on a board or to a ribbon. Displaying these is what makes them look special.

You can glue these all to a board close together.
ReplyDeleteYou can starch these into flat circles and thread a garland.
You can layer these to make flowers.
