Volunteers

Art Camp wouldn't happen without volunteers. EVERYONE is a volunteer at Art Camp. We have three main teachers there each night for the lessons, a bible teacher and four to five more volunteers for every night. I like to keep the adult to student ratio to be no more than 1:6.

I also have volunteers prepare materials beforehand and set-up for the next day.

Art Show Pictures

Students are not allowed to take their work home until after the Art Show. At the end of the week of art camp, we display student work. Students normally get to pick three to five pieces to display. They are allowed to invite family and friends to view their work.

Acrylics

Every year our students paint with acrylic. I find stretched canvas and inexpensive framed pieces to gesso over.

Wooden Face

I have been really interested in faces for some reason. Where would we get enough scrap wood to make THESE? I would also love to have the students use a hammer and nails for the construction.

Letter Opener

I think THESE would make a fun opener. Our students love to mix colors. Or this could also make a good lesson for acrylics.

Collage Photo

I wonder if THESE could be turned into an opening project. I would have to have the copies already made. I don't know if I want to be the one to select the image. I like this teacher's results but I don't know if this would work well during our week's schedule.

Tape Sculpture

How cool are THESE? I'm assuming this is packing tape. It could look neat using colored saran wrap too. I am really looking forward to trying these.
